DE LEON Appoints LACAP 



as COS Dean

 Dr. Reneecilla B. Paz De Leon announces the appointment of Dr. Eduardo M. Lacap Jr. as the COS dean.
July 12 marked a changed of leadership in terms of academic and college development for the College of Science when Dr. Olivia F. Deleon, URS President designated a new Dean for the COS in the person of Dr. Eduardo M. Lacap Jr., one of the COS finest student in year 2004.
            In a short ceremony led by Dr. Reneecilla B. Paz Deleon, the Chancellor of URS Cluster 2, she welcomed Dr. Lacap in the growing family of URS– Morong Campus on July 15 at URSM Quadrangle during the Flag Raising Ceremony.
            Dr. Lacap took his degree B.S. Mathematics, here in University of Rizal System. His M.A.S. Mathematical Sciences major in Statistics and Doctor of Philosophy in Mathematical Sciences major in Statistics was also taken from URS
Dr. Lacaps’ priority project for the College is to attain the Level III Re-Accredited status on all programs of College of Science. He further expound that this would be possible through the help and cooperation of the faculty, the students and the staff.
            When asked about his expectations to the COS student leaders, he said that he was once a student leader so he want to retrieve the effectiveness of leadership during his time.
            On the other hand, he is expecting the faculties, students and staff for respect and full cooperation.
            He also encourage the students to be research-oriented and to be independent in their academic studies.
            Top list projects for his academe leadership is trendy and innovative such as the COS fun  page in Facebook (cos_urs@yahoo.com). This is for the students’ direct voice to the dean’s office and to empower the student leaders to be active. He also cited the restoration of  the COS activity center.
            “Let’s be optimistic that the College excels even more with the cooperation and collaboration of each other from faculty, to students down to staff.” Dr. Lacap explained on his message to the COS Family.
            Meanwhile, the College’ secretary, Mrs. Adela Obrero retained her position.
